PURPOSE: A signal processing method, an encoding apparatus thereof, and a decoding apparatus are provided to reduce the degradation of the sound quality of a signal due to down-mixing. CONSTITUTION: An encoding apparatus restores a down-mixed original signal in the use of a de-quantized prediction parameter(310). The encoding apparatus generates mute information according to the value of a first restoration signal(320). The mute information indicates the original sound is mute. The encoding apparatus transmits the down-mixed original signal to a decoding apparatus(330).
