A flushing method for an internal combustion engine is provided to remove carbon and sludge accumulated in an inner side of each part completely by disassembling only a head cover and an ignition plug and filling a flushing fluid to the parts and holding for preset time. A flushing method for an internal combustion engine comprises the steps of: disassembling a head cover of an engine in a shut-down state, and diagnosing contamination state of a head cover by examining carbon remains attached to an inner surface(ST1); cleaning by immersing the head cover in a container full of aqueous flushing liquid for 10 minutes to 4 hours(ST2); removing carbon and sludge in a cylinder block and a crankcase under a piston by filling the flushing liquid through an oil gauge hole located in the cylinder block and holding for 10 minutes to 4 hours(ST3); removing carbon and sludge in a cylinder head by filling the flushing liquid in the cylinder head for 10 minutes to 4 hours(ST4); exhausting the flushing fluid filled in the cylinder head with a vacuum pump after a preset time(ST5); disassembling an ignition plug installed on each cylinder, and removing carbon and sludge inside a cylinder head by filling the flushing liquid through an ignition plug installing hole communicated with the cylinder and holding for 10 minutes to 4 hours(ST6); exhausting the flushing fluid filled in the crank case through an oil discharging hole at a bottom of an oil pan after a preset time(ST7); exhausting the flushing fluid filled inside a cylinder head above the piston with a vacuum pump after a preset time(ST8); and removing carbon and sludge remained in an engine with compressed air.
