<p>PURPOSE: A deformation process of semiconductor optical paths due to morphological manipulation is provided to improve propagation velocity and loss which influence on performance characteristics of an apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A core region(120) comprises a second region(120b) which has a second refractive index and a second type shape and a first region(120a) which has a first refractive index and a first type shape. An optical signal(130) is transmitted through the first region with a speed faster than the second region. The propagation time of the optical signal through the core region depends on relative lengths of regions which follow optical paths of the core region such as a path in a signal propagation direction.</p> |
