PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable disk medium driving device improving the alignment accuracy of a disk medium. SOLUTION: The disk medium holding device is provided with: a disk chuck main body 11 which is arranged on a turntable 12 rotating a disk 21 placed thereon and corresponds to a hole formed in the center of the disk 21; a plurality of spherical claws 16 energized so that the ends thereof project outward from the peripheral edge of the disk chuck main body 11; a cam 17 which is arranged in the disk chuck main body 11 and abuts on the plurality of spherical claws 16; and a spring 18 which applies an energizing force to the cam 17 and projects the plurality of spherical claws 16 outward from the peripheral edge of the disk chuck main body 11 via the application of the energizing force to the cam 17.
