PURPOSE: A voice recognition method and an image display device are provided to conveniently use a voice display device and to increase the recognition rate of voice. CONSTITUTION: A voice display device receives a voice signal corresponding to one completion-type character(1115). The voice display device photographs a motion video of a lip shape(1117). The video display device extracts a voice signal section from the voice signal(1125). The video display device extracts the video signal section from the motion video(1127). If the voice signal section matches the video signal section, the video display device recognizes the completion-type character.
