PURPOSE: A primer for detecting tsutsugamushi disease infection and a detection method are provided to quickly and easily determined the infection. CONSTITUTION: A primer for detecting Orientia tsutsugamushi infection comprises bases of sequence numbers 1-4. A kit for detecting Orientia tsutsugamushi infection contains the primer of sequence numbers 1-4. A method for detecting Orientia tsutsugamushi comprises: a step of isolating DNA from a test sample; a step of performing nested-PCR using the DNA and the primer of sequence numbers 1-4; and a step of analyzing the PCR product.
