PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which is accessible to a support web site only by simple operation of photographing a two-dimensional symbol displayed on a display section, and to provide a recording device control method and a program. SOLUTION: When an error of the recording device is detected, an address of the web site in which an error handling method is described is read out from a first memory 43, and the address is encoded in the two-dimensional symbol by an encoder 29, followed by displaying the two-dimensional symbol on a display 26 of the recording device. Further a telephone number of a support center, and information for identifying the recording device can be also two-dimensionally symbolized together with the address.
