<p>The probe (10) has an optical fiber (12) comprising a core (28) surrounded by an optical sheath (30), a proximal end connected to a source of light rays (R) and a distal end (16) sending the light rays in a neighboring region. The distal end is surrounded by a capillary tube (22) of fusible glass, and an assembly is melt to heat under controlled conditions on a part (L2) of selected length (L1), from a front face (34) of the fiber to assure fusion connection between the sheath and the tube and confer bending to the distal end with a deviation angle (A) of a selected value. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a medical probe.</p> |
