PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing mother-of-pearl patterned ceramic wares based on a Korean traditional lacquer technique, DOTAECHILGI, and the ceramic wares manufactured by the same are provided to effectively attach mother-of-pearl on the surface of the ceramic wares using a urethane-based waterproof agent and a urethane-based transparent paint. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing mother-of-pearl patterned ceramic wares based on a Korean traditional lacquer technique, DOTAECHILGI, includes the following: a ceramic body undergoes a soil preparing process and a shaping process to prepare a biscuit fired ceramic; a urethane-based waterproof agent is coated on the biscuit fired ceramic to obtain a prime-coated product; a cashew paint is coated on the surface of the prime-coated product to obtain a cashew-coated product; a glue is coated and dried on the cashew-coated product; thermal steam is applied to the cashew-coated product to attach mother-of-pearl; a glue is secondarily coated and dried on the mother-of-pearl attached product; remaining glue is eliminated; and a urethane-based transparent paint is coated and dried on the product.
