FIELD: modular radio stations. ^ SUBSTANCE: versatile radio station (200) includes a specialized audio circuit (210) with a speaker (208) functionally independent from other circuits, a specialized information circuit (220) positioned on the opposite of the audio circuit, and the upper circuit (250) with controls which has at least one control function (202 or 204). The audio circuit may include an auxiliary function module (242) which allows the installation of additional functional units into the device, for example, a camera, environmental monitoring sensors, WLAN receivers, additional audio elements or a barcode reader. The information circuit may include a keyboard (214 and 216) and a display (218).
