PURPOSE: A bidirectional power supply apparatus of an electric vehicle for a smart grid and a bidirectional power supply method using the same are provided to reduce costs by utilizing existing parts. CONSTITUTION: A bidirectional power supply apparatus uses an existing BMS(Battery Management System)(132) and a MCU(Motor Control Unit)(120). A smart switch(160) is connected to the BMS. A determining unit receives an smart mode operation of an operator through a smart switch. A grid power supply unit(150) supplies battery power to a grid connected to an electric vehicle according to a command of the determining unit in a smart mode. The smart switch is turned on/off with the manipulation of the operator. A current from a sub battery(162) in the electric vehicle is applied to the determining unit in the on-state of the smart switch. The power in a battery(130) is reversely supplied to the grid through a watt-hour meter(200) connected to the electric vehicle.
