COMPOSITIONS WITH LOW GLYCEMIC INDEX FOR IMPROVEMENT OF METABOLIC SYNDROMES

A composition comprising an extract of Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer is provided to be useful for lowering blood glucose due to very low glycemic index(GI) and glycemic load(GL) and be effective for improving metabolic syndromes such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and glucose intolerance. A composition for controlling GI comprises an extract of Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer and has GI of 15-26. The composition further comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of an extract of Ceratonia siliqua, an extract of Lagerstroemia speciosa Pers., an extract of Morus alba Linne, an extract of cultured black yeast and an extract of Cinnamomum zeylanicum Nees.
