<p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide a light emitting element, which has high light emitting characteristics and long service-life, even if a metal oxide is applied as a charge injection layer, a method for manufacturing the light emitting element, and a light emitting device. Specifically, in each of the organic EL elements (100a-100c), an anode (102), a hole injection layer (103), a functional layer including a hole transport layer (105A) and an organic light emitting layer (105B), and a cathode (107) are laminated in this order on a substrate (101), and the shape of the organic light emitting layer (105B) is defined by a bank (104). The hole injection layer (103) is a metal oxide layer formed by oxidizing the surface of the anode (102) composed of a metal layer. Furthermore the hole injection layer (103) is formed as a recessed structure (recessed structure (103a)) wherein a region defined by the bank (104) is recessed, and the recessed portion end (103c) of the recessed structure (103a) is covered with a part (covering section (104d)) of the bank (104).</p> |
