In the processing system of the present invention, a microcomputer (10) of an ECU (1) to be a master determines whether to turn on or off the power supply for a slave ECU (2a), and on the basis of the determination result, outputs a power supply control signal indicating power supply on/off via serial communication, whereupon a signal superimposition circuit (13) receives the signal and transmits thereof to a CAN bus (3) to which a CAN transceiver (12) is connected. At the slave ECU (2a), a signal separation circuit (23a) independently receives the CAN communication signal and the serial communication signal which have been transmitted to the CAN bus (3), inputs the serial communication signal as a power supply control signal at an input/output control circuit (24a), and outputs the signal to a power supply circuit (21a), thereby controlling on/off of the microcomputer (20a).
