PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, capable of estimating a suction gas flow rate with high accuracy even when EGR is used.
SOLUTION: When exhaust gas is circulated into an intake pipe 34, gas density ρm in the intake pipe 34 is changed. The gas density ρm is represented by ρm=MPm/RTm (M: molecular weight of gas), and has an inverse relationship with gas temperature Tm in the intake pipe 34. Therefore, when a circulation exhaust gas flow rate is low, the gas temperature in the intake pipe 34 is low, and the gas density in the intake pipe 34 is increased, thereby increasing the amount of suction gas. Meanwhile, when the circulation exhaust gas flow rate is high, the gas temperature in the intake pipe 34 is high, and the gas density in the suction pipe 34 is reduced, thereby reducing the amount of suction gas. Accordingly, by correcting the amount of suction gas by a change of the gas density in the suction pipe 34, the amount of suction gas when external EGR is utilized is accurately predicted.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
