<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bookrest equipped with page holders which can hold down pages with a suitable pressing force regardless of the thickness of pages to be held down. <P>SOLUTION: On both right and left sides of the lower part of the book-placing surface of the bookrest 1, there are installed racks 2 on which a round bar 3 is bridged. Then, the page holders 4 are slidably and turnably fitted externally thereon, wherein the page holders 4 are designed to pressurize the outer periphery of the round bar 3, are turnable on the round bar 3, and are equipped with a page face contact portion 5.
