A washing machine is provided. The washing machine may include a casing (10), an outer tub (35), and a suspension (100). The suspension (100) may include a support rod (110), a cap (120), a first elastic member (150), and a friction damper (170). The support rod (110) may be connected to the casing (10) at one end thereof. The support rod (110) may penetrate the cap (120), and the cap (120) may move upward or downward along the support rod (110) according to an amount of vibration of the outer tub (35). The support rod (110) may penetrate the first elastic member (150), which may elastically support the cap (120). The friction damper (170) may be movably provided along the support rod (110) and generate a certain frictional force with the support rod (110). |
