The invention relates to a conical pulley transmission having a first and a second set of conical pulleys, each of which is associated with a respective shaft and which are drive-connected to each other by a belt-driven transmission means in such a manner that the transmission is continuously variable, and having a device for reversing the direction of rotation. The invention is characterised in that the device for reversing the direction of rotation comprises a forward gear wheel and a reverse gear wheel, which can be selectively rotatably connected via a synchronising device to the shaft of one of the pulley sets.
