A plasma display panel and a driving method thereof are provided to improve discharge reliability of the plasma display panel by applying a short-term voltage on an auxiliary electrode. A plasma display panel includes scan electrodes(402a,402b), sustain electrodes(403a,403b), and auxiliary electrodes(402c,402d). The scan electrodes are arranged on a front substrate. The sustain electrodes are parallel to the scan electrodes. The auxiliary electrodes are formed to be parallel between the scan and sustain electrodes. The auxiliary electrodes are formed to be closer to the scan electrode. A width of the auxiliary electrode is smaller than that of the scan electrode. An address electrode is formed on a rear substrate to cross the scan, auxiliary, and sustain electrodes. A protrusion is formed at an intersection between the auxiliary and address electrodes.
