<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating and melting method in which reduction treatment of a heating and melting material is performed using carboxylic acid while preventing production of residue. <P>SOLUTION: When the temperature of a heating and melting material goes below a melting point after a melting step of a solder material containing tin, vapor of carboxylic acid is exhausted and the pressure is reduced. Subsequently, the atmosphere is replaced by an inert gas atmosphere not containing carboxylic acid.
