<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device having a simple configuration, which is capable of removing foreign matters and suppressing occurrence of toner aggregates. <P>SOLUTION: A mesh 310 is provided obliquely so as to be inclined downward in a developer carrying direction of a supply chamber, at a communication port 308 being a drop port to which a developer 320 is dropped from the supply chamber provided with a supply chamber carrying member 304 to a recovery chamber provided with a recovery chamber carrying member 305 of a developing device 3. The mesh 310 is made of a conductive material and is grounded. A size of holes of the mesh 310 is made smaller than a gap between a developer control member 303 and a developing sleeve 302c of a developing roller 302.
