PURPOSE: A lamp driving apparatus is provided to reduce overall manufacturing costs by saving manufacturing costs for a liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A switching part(610) is comprised of a switching device which is turned on/off according to the size of a current outputted from a lamp. A smoothing part(620) turns on the switching part for a predetermined time by smoothing the current outputted from the lamp. A maintenance part(630) maintains the operation of the smoothing part for a predetermined time. An output part(640) detects a normal operation of a backlight by outputting a low or high signal according to the operation of the switching part. An output terminal outputs the low or high signal according to a divided voltage level in a plurality of voltage-dividing resistors. |
