<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable changing of a fixing condition without substantially deteriorating the productivity and the image quality even when the types of recording members or the imaging conditions are different. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device switches a first mode of heating an image formed on a first recording material with a first image heating condition, to a second mode of heating an image formed on a second recording material thicker than the first recording material with a second image heating condition when continuously heating images formed on second recording materials at a nip part consecutively after heating images formed on a plurality of first recording materials at the nip part. The switching operation period from the first mode to the second mode includes a period overlapping with a passing period during which the first recording material passes in the nip part.
