<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire improved in ride comfort with lightweight and excellent high speed durability, and controllability and stability. <P>SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire includes a carcass layer 4 having both ends folded back by a pair of annular beads 1a, a belt layer arranged on an outer peripheral side of the carcass layer 4 and including at least two sheets of belt plies, and a belt reinforcing layer arranged on an outer peripheral side of the belt layer to reinforce the belt layer. The belt reinforcing layer is formed by spirally winding a polyethylenenaphthalate film along a substantially peripheral direction. The belt reinforcing layer includes a center belt reinforcing layer 6in arranged in a width direction center part including a tire equator line C and two sheets of shoulder belt reinforcing layers 6out arranged to cover both end parts of a belt ply, respectively.
