<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing control unit, a printer, and a printing control program which can restrain banding. <P>SOLUTION: As the K value after the conversion of color from RGB to CMYK is converted into a C value, a M value, and a Y value by GCR processing, dots of a chromatic color are used even when printed on a gray scale. Therefore, compared to the case in which only dots of an achromatic color are used, many dots are formed and formation positions of dots are varied so that banding can be restrained. Further, when a second mode is selected, relatively big first-type dots are often used as dots of a chromatic color compared to the case of the first mode.
