<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a highly convenient map display device capable of displaying a map on the basis of road data and attributes so as to use the map display device in a navigation apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Areas sectioned by roads are set as parts 1, 2, 3 and 4, which are display units. Various attributes are stored in a storage unit as part data, and an identification code is added to each part.
