STERN THRUSTER

A stern thruster for a boat comprising a motor and a transversal thruster tunnel with thruster propeller(s) operating in the transverse direction of the boat. The thruster tunnel is arranged on the outside of the transom plate of the boat, where the thruster tunnel comprises a central portion with at least a port and a starboard guide channel forming port, respectively starboard inlet/ outlet from the thruster tunnel. The guide channel constitutes a transition between a mainly circular cross-section at an inner connection portion connected to a mainly circular cross-section of the central portion of the thruster tunnel, to a non-circular cross-section at the outer inlet/outlet towards the sea, where the guide channel is arranged for guiding a water current of the stern thruster through a gap formed by the transom plate and the stern drives to improve the steering impact on the boat.
