<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a ceramic joined body having high heat resistance and chemical reaction resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A joining material 12 composed of a sheet-like molded body containing microparticles of a compound of a metal element or a semimetal element and a nonmetal element is disposed between materials to be joined 10A, 10B composed of a ceramic of the compound; and layers 11A, 11B composed of a single material of the metal element or the semimetal element is disposed between the materials to be joined 10A, 10B and the joining material 12, to thereby form a layered structure 20. Then, the layered structure 20 is fired in the state of a load being applied thereon in an atmosphere of the metal element or in an atmosphere of a compound containing the nonmetal element, to thereby make a joined body 1.
