<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of preventing detachment of an optical adapter when attaching/detaching an optical connector to/from the optical adapter, while being miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: An optical module 1 includes a substantially box-shaped module body 2 and a lid body 3 for covering the inside of the module body 2. A plurality of optical adapters 4 are arranged side by side in a width direction of the module body 2 at a front end portion of the module body 2. A fitting projection portion 14 is provided at a width direction center portion of an inner wall surface of the module body 2. The fitting projection portion 14 is formed to be bent from a base 15 toward a rear side of the module body 2 and includes a substantially L-shaped hook piece 16 to lock the module body 2 and the lid body 3. A fitting projection portion 21 is provided at a width direction center portion of an inner wall surface of the lid body 3.
