<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus and a liquid crystal display device that each have a simplified configuration surely preventing the apparatus and the device from operating when a tuner is not mounted on the apparatus and the device. <P>SOLUTION: The display apparatus includes a control unit including a potential detecting input port. The input port of the control unit is connected to a signal line that establishes connection to a free terminal that is provided to a tuner when the tuner is mounted on the display apparatus. The signal line is pulled up such that it is connected to a power supply voltage via a predetermined resistor. In a case where the potential detected by the input port is in H level, the control unit causes each portion included in the display apparatus to be disabled in operation. When the potential detected by the input port changes to be in L level, the control unit determines that the tuner is mounted, and causes each portion included in the tuner and the display apparatus to be operational. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
