<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber facilitating assembling work, reducing weight, reducing an environmental load, and formable in a small diameter, with relation to an improvement of the shock absorber. <P>SOLUTION: This shock absorber includes a cylindrical body 1 of a cylindrical shape for storing a working fluid inside, a piston 2 slidably inserted into the inner periphery of the cylindrical body 1 and partitioning two action chambers A and B inside the cylindrical body 1, a rod 3 for holding the piston 2, and damping force generating means V1 and V2 for generating predetermined damping force when sliding the piston 2.
