PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carpaine activity inhibitor with excellent safety which can be utilized for the prevention and treatment of various diseases brought about by the surplus activation of carpaine.

SOLUTION: It has been found out that one or more kinds of plants selected from the group consisting of the plants belonging to the Ericaceae Vaccinum and the plants belonging to the Rosaceae Eriobotrya or the solvent extract of these plants, particularly, Vaccinium myrtillus or the solvent extract thereof and Eriobotryae folium or its solvent extract have an remarkably excellent carpaine activity inhibiting action.
