PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abrasion detection device of a cutter bit manufacturable at low cost, causing no erroneous detection, well handlable, capable of surely detecting abrasion even in the earth having less underground water, and easily replaceable if the failure or damage occurs. SOLUTION: This abrasion detection device of a cutter bit comprises a storage hole 40 formed in a bit body 21 from the anti-cutting blade side bottom surface 23 of the bit body 21 toward the cutting blade side; an abrasive member 50 so formed as to be inserted into and extracted from the storage hole 40 and made of a conductive material worn when the bit body 21 is worn, a releasing means 60 for fixing the abrasive member 50 to the bit body 21 in such a state that it is inserted into the storage hole 40 and releasing the fixing; a detection wire 70 having one end fixed to the abrasive member 50 at a predetermined position and the other end extracted from the storage hole 40; and a resistance value measuring means 80 for measuring the resistance between the other end of the detection wire 70 and the abrasive member 50.
