PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method suitable for detecting AGE-2 in a cell or tissue to determine and/or quantify the present position thereof, and to provide a kit therefor. SOLUTION: This method for immunohistochemicially detecting a terminal scaccarified product originating from gluceraldehyde in the cell or tissue includes a process for bringing an aptamer, which can be specifically bonded to the terminal scaccharified product originating from gluceraldehyde, into contact with the cell or tissue and a process for detecting the aptamer bonded to the terminal scaccharified product originating from glucaraldehyde in the cell or tissure. Furthermore, the kit for immunohistochemically detecting the terminal scaccharified product originating from gluceraldehyde in the cell or tissue is provided. This kit is equipped with the aptamer capable of being specifically bonded to the terminal scaccharified product originating from gluceraldehyde.
