Disclosed is a method for the prevention and/or treatment of diseases associated with myeloid-derived suppressor cell (MDSC)-mediated immunosuppression and/or arginase-mediated immunosuppression, including without limitation cancer. The method includes the combination of yeast-based immunotherapy and arginine therapy. Compositions and kits encompassed by the invention are also described.
