The pack (4) has a set of individual rechargeable accumulator flat cells (5, 6) provided with a cathode arrestor and an anode arrestor, where the two arrestors are electrically and conductively interconnected. The flat cells are mechanically held in a closed housing (2). An inner space (16) of the housing is formed in a gastight manner and filled with a gas (23) e.g. inert gas or carbon dioxide, or free from oxygen, at pressure. A pressure regulator is arranged in the housing. A gas pad (24) is formed between the cells.
