<p>An imaging element (10) is provided with: a light-sensing cell array (12) comprising light-sensing cells arrayed along an imaging surface; a polarizer array (14) comprising a two-dimensional array of unit structures containing N polarizers (N an integer 2 or greater) each with a different polarization transmission axis direction and configured such that to each light-sensing cell, light is incident that has been transmitted through a single polarizer; a circuit for reading pixel signals from the light-sensing cell array (12); and a shift device (16) for shifting the position of the polarizer array (14) relative to the light-sensing cell array (12) in a direction parallel to the imaging surface. The disclosed imaging device is provided with: the aforementioned imaging element (10), a drive circuit (40) for driving the shift device (16), and an imaging lens (20) for forming images on the imaging element (10).</p> |
