A checking system is disclosed for checking for the absence of defects in a facilitated opening line formed by a non- through circumferal notch in an annular wall of a containers closure made of plastics. A spindle enters the annular wall and rotates the annular wall in such a manner that the entire circumference of the facilitated opening line faces an external electrode to which an electric potential is applied. If the thickness of the facilitated opening line falls below a limit value, an electric discharge is generated between the electrode and the spindle, for which reason the containers closure is discarded.
