摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel driving method of an electronic device in which digital grayscale and time grayscale are combined, that can secure a high duty ratio, that can normally display an image (video) even when a sustain period is shorter than an address period, and that is uneasily affected by rounding of a signal waveform. <P>SOLUTION: In a sub-frame period 102 including a sustain period 104 shorter than an address period 103, a clear period 105 is forcibly provided for a period after the end of the sustain period 104 and before the start of an address period in the next sub-frame period. This allows the length of the sustain period 104 to be set regardless of the length of the address period 103. Since this non-display period is provided by changing the potential of a holding capacitor line, it is not affected by rounding of a signal waveform differently from a method in which the non-display period is provided by changing the potential of a cathode wiring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
