<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress Doppler distortion components by a loudspeaker included in a sound played back by a sound-reproducing system. <P>SOLUTION: A Doppler distortion compensator has means to estimate displacement of a diaphragm in a loudspeaker. The 0- to n-th powers of the estimated displacement of the diaphragm are respectively multiplied by the 0- to n-th time derivative signals of a sound source signal, further multiplied by corresponding coefficients, and summed up.
