<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize both light emission efficiency and chromaticity of an organic EL display device, and to minimize necessary current amount and power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The organic EL display device includes a plurality of organic EL elements of sub-pixels of three colors R, G and B each having an organic compound layer including a light emitting layer between a first electrode on a light extraction side and a second electrode opposed to the first electrode, the organic EL elements each having a resonator structure which resonates light generated in the light emitting layer between a first reflecting surface on the side of the first electrode with respect to the organic compound layer and a second reflecting surface on the side of the second electrode with respect to the organic compound layer. Here, an optical distance (d) between light emitting positions in the light emitting layers of the organic EL elements of three colors R, G and B and the second reflecting surface is set to a value which is ±10% from a minimum value of an (n)th order of a curve of necessary current density when at least the optical distance (d) is varied so as to make a predetermined white display by mixing the three colors R, G and B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
