ALUMINUM OXIDE FILM REMOVER AND METHOD FOR SURFACE TREATMENT OF ALUMINUM OR ALUMINUM ALLOY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remover which can perform the displacement deposition of silver and/or copper caused by silver and/or a copper compound contained in the remover on the surface of aluminum and/or aluminum alloy while suppressing erosion of the surface as much as possible, wherein because a displacement deposit of silver and copper can be quickly dissolved and removed at a low temperature without almost eating the surface of aluminum or aluminum alloy, the surface of the aluminum or aluminum alloy can be activated while reliably leaving the aluminum or aluminum alloy even when the thickness of the aluminum or aluminum alloy is extremely thin.

SOLUTION: An aluminum oxide film remover for removing an oxide film on the surface of aluminum or aluminum alloy contains: silver ions and/or copper ions; a solubilizing agent for silver ions and/or copper ions; and a quaternary ammonium hydroxide compound and has a pH value of 10 to 13.5.
