BAND EXTENSION DEVICE, PROGRAM, AND VOICE COMMUNICATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band extension device capable of suppressing unintended quality deterioration of a signal expanding a frequency band formed by utilizing a nonlinear processing.

SOLUTION: The band extension device includes nonlinear processing means by which the nonlinear processing is applied to the signal in a narrow band of which the frequency band is limited. This device also includes whitening means which whitens the signal subjected to the nonlinear processing, or noise superimposition means by which a signal, which is formed by imparting to the white noise characteristics obtained by whitening the spectrum profile obtained by obtaining the spectrum profile of the signal having the expanded frequency band, is superimposed on the signal having the expanded frequency band.
