<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid construction machinery using an electric motor for driving a revolving superstructure, capable of inhibiting a situation where an electric motor torque cannot be generated due to energy shortage or overcharge, etc. of an electricity storage device. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid construction machinery has a manual type revolving mode changeover switch 77 for commanding changeover between a hydraulic electric concurrent usage revolving mode driving an electric motor 25 and a hydraulic motor 27 and a hydraulic solo usage revolving mode driving only the hydraulic motor 27 for driving a revolving structure 20. In ordinary operation, the hydraulic electric concurrent usage revolving mode is set up initially. In special operation, an operator switches the revolving mode changeover switch 77 from the hydraulic electric concurrent usage revolving mode to the hydraulic solo usage revolving mode.
