<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke-tight tape capable of effectively preventing origin smoke from being diffused through a building even in an initial time of fire breakout. <P>SOLUTION: A smoke-tight tape 11A, which is attached to the partition wall clearance of an opening/closing door, etc. in a building, and is thermally expanded in the direction of the clearance in case of fire breakout to close the partition wall clearance, consists of a powdery or pasty thermal expansion agent 12 filled in a substantially flat cross-sectional band-like bag 13A. The thermal expansion agent 12 contains a microcapsule aggregate encapsulating a volatile liquid, and the microcapsule aggregate can be thermally expanded by evaporation of the volatile liquid.
