<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve yield and reliability of liquid crystal by eliminating difference in level on a seal material. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises an element substrate, a pixel portion including a thin film transistor provided for the element substrate, a seal material provided to surround the pixel portion of the element substrate, a peripheral driver circuit of a one-side driving method provided inside the seal material of the element substrate, first wiring and second wiring provided below the seal material and connected to the peripheral driver circuit, a support member provided for a region that faces each of the first wiring and the second wiring below the seal material and electrically insulated from the first wiring and the second wiring, and a black matrix provided to partially overlap with the support member.
