<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially shorten a projection distance of a projection optical system, decrease an interval from a screen lower end to a set lower end, and miniaturize a set in a rear projection type video display device. <P>SOLUTION: The rear projection type video display device includes: a housing 5 in which a projection lens for enlarging and projecting an image displayed to a video display device onto a transmission type screen 6, an optical path fold mirror for halfway folding the projection light flux projected from the projection lens, and a driving circuit for displaying the video on the video display device are fixedly stored. Assuming that the diagonal dimension of the transmission type screen 6 is defined as SS (inch), the depth of the housing 5 is defined as D(inch), and the length from the lower end of the transmission type screen 6 to the lower end of the housing 5 is defined as L (inch), the rear projection type video display apparatus satisfies the following conditions, 40<SS, D<SS/3, and L<SS/12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
