<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image display method capable of displaying a high-resolution magnified image using the resolution of a display unit when an input image with a resolution lower than the resolution of the display unit is to be magnified and displayed. <P>SOLUTION: When generating a magnified image of an input image from the input image, this image display device generates the magnified image by performing a magnification process on the input image, and then generates a reduced image by performing a reducing process other than an inverse process of the magnification process on the magnified image. Thereafter, the image display device detects a difference between a pixel value of the reduced image and a corresponding pixel value of the input image, and corrects the pixel value of the input image or the magnified image based on the detected difference, thereby correcting the magnified image to be finally output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
