PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dyes for a dye-sensitized solar cell having excellent photoelectric conversion characteristic, a semiconductor electrode having excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency sensitized with the dyes for the dye-sensitized solar cell and the dye-sensitized solar cell using the semiconductor electrode.

SOLUTION: The dyes for the dye-sensitized solar cell represented by the general formula (1), the semiconductor electrode sensitized with the dyes and the dye-sensitized solar cell using the semiconductor electrode are provided.
