<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix converter in which the size of an AC reactor is downsized. <P>SOLUTION: The matrix converter includes: first to third AC reactors L1, L2, and L3 that are connected in series to outputs of first to third phases of a three phase AC power supply 11, respectively; and a cooling fan 17 which generates cooling air for cooling the first to third AC reactors L1, L2, and L3.
